When you’re working on a construction project, it’s no secret that you have hundreds of construction related processes you need to manage and the two most predominant of those are RFI’s and submittals. Historically, email has been used to obtain answers to RFI’s and approval for submittals, but an email only approach has no way of predefining the process workflow and ensuring the right team members are notified at the right time to perform the right task. Another core challenge related to RFI’s and submittals is how slow and tedious it can be process them. This is typically because the information required to answer an RFI or finalize the submittal is difficult to locate. Or maybe it’s not clear who on the team is responsible for providing the next response.

Another issue is supporting the creation and access of RFIs in the field. Without a field enabled process, this information can be difficult to track down. Additionally, once an RFI is answered, those responses need to be readily available to the field team. With most systems, this is not the case.

But what about submittals which are more frequently done in the office? The most important thing is to know the status of your submittals. If the field team is ready to begin installing a new part of the project, need to make sure the relevant submittals have been approved. Well, what if I told you there was a better way?
